Iran extends range of Bavar air defense systems to 300 km
The range of Iran's homegrown missile defense system, Bavar-373, is increased to 300 km.
The Commander of the Iranian Army's Air Defense Force, Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard, announced Sunday at a military academy in Tehran that while Iran previously manufactured the first version of the Bavar-373 air defense system with a range of 200 km, the system has now been upgraded in response to threats.
The new Bavar-373 missile system, the commander announced, has been tested at a range of 300 km.
“We are monitoring the enemies at their bases. The range of our radars is thousands of kilometers,” he said, adding that the Iranian Armed Forces are at their highest level of deterrence.
The Bavar-373 was first unveiled in August 2019. Iran's long-range air defense system is capable of detecting up to 100 targets, tracking 60, and engaging with six at the same time.

The missile system has a vertical launching system with square launchers, which are mostly deployed on warships, and uses three types of missiles to engage targets at different altitudes.
Iran develops UAV "designed to hit Israel's Tel Aviv, Haifa": Mehr
Iran has developed an advanced long-range suicide drone "designed to hit Israel's Tel Aviv, Haifa," Iranian news agency Mehr reported, citing Iran’s ground forces chief as saying.
Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari said the drone, named Arash-2, is a newer version of Arash-1, and it is designed to target the cities of Iran’s enemy "Israel".
“We have considered this drone specifically for the attack on Haifa and Tel Aviv,” Heidari said, adding that the drone has “unique capabilities and can recover multiple times until it hits the target.”
Heidari confirmed that the drone has been implemented into the army's arsenal and its capabilities will be unveiled soon.
