Iran FM says regional changes to have positive effects on Lebanon
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrives in Lebanon and lauds the ties between Tehran and Beirut.
Iran sees Lebanese security as an integral part of the region's and Iran's, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Wednesday upon his arrival at the Rafiq Hariri International Airport in Beirut.
"New developments have taken place in the region in recent weeks, and we believe that their results are good for the region and the Islamic world, including Lebanon," said Amir-Abdollahian, who is on an official visit to Lebanon.
The Iranian diplomat praised the bilateral ties between Tehran and Beirut, saying that he had "suggestions and innovations aimed at improving the situation in Lebanon."
He revealed he would discuss his suggestions with senior officials "in the friendly and brotherly county of Lebanon."

The Iranian diplomat's visit to Beirut, he said, came as a way for Iran to announce its "unwavering support for the people, the army, and the Resistance in Lebanon."
"Iran always supported negotiations in the regions, and it does not see war as a solution," he underlined.
The Foreign Minister's words came during a press conference held at the Beirut airport after he was received by the Lebanese Foreign Minister and some MPs and diplomats from the Iranian embassy.

The Iranian top diplomat's latest visit came in January when he arrived for consultations with his Lebanese counterpart and some other high-ranking Lebanese officials.
After arriving in Lebanon, he told a press conference that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to support the Lebanese people, government, and Resistance.
Amir-Abdollahian stated that his visit to Lebanon is at the invitation of his Lebanese counterpart and is aimed at bilateral consultations on bilateral ties, as well as regional and international developments.
He emphasized that Iran's strong support for Lebanon remains unchanged.
