Iran pressing for international condemnation of 'Israel': Bagheri Kani
Iran's Acting Foreign Minister reiterates that his country will take decisive and lawful measures to defend its national security, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
Iran is committed to rallying international and regional organizations to condemn the latest Israeli massacre in the Al-Tabieen school in Gaza City, affirmed Iran's Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, during a phone conversation with Hamas Deputy Chief Khalil al-Hayya.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is seriously pressing for the condemnation of the Zionists’ new crime at the regional and international organizations," Bagheri Kani indicated.
He stressed that the actions of the Israeli occupation entity leave no doubt about its intent to annihilate the Palestinian people through genocide.
Bagheri Kani also congratulated Yahya Sinwar on his election as the successor to martyr Ismail Haniyeh, reiterating Iran's unwavering support for the oppressed Palestinian people.
The Hamas official, in turn, highlighted the killing of innocent civilians, including women and children, by the Israeli occupation regime, calling on the global community to denounce this act of terrorism.
He also underscored the importance of ongoing consultations with Iran on this matter.
Continuous Israeli crimes destabilized the region
In a related context, Bagheri Kani also held a phone conversation with Belgian Foreign Minister Haja Lahbib.
The Iranian diplomat explained that the Israeli occupation regime's continuous crimes and acts of genocide in Gaza, including the attack on the school in Gaza, the aggression on a residential area in Beirut, and the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, have destabilized the region.
He reaffirmed that Iran will take decisive and lawful measures to defend its national security, territorial integrity, and sovereignty, in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
On her part, Lahbib expressed concern over the escalating situation in the region, warning that it could lead to a full-scale war if not controlled.
She expressed support for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and condemned the Israeli settlement expansion, affirming Belgium's commitment to upholding the rights of Palestinian refugees. She also advocated for sanctions against extremist settlers.
The Belgian Foreign Minister also underscored the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, warning that the situation in the region could further deteriorate.
Elsewhere, Lahbib emphasized the importance of all parties exercising maximum restraint and highlighted the necessity of ongoing consultations between Tehran and Brussels.

Western hypocrisy indisputable
Additionally, in a phone conversation with Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp, Bagheri Kani slammed the West's double standards in its purported defense of human rights.
He argued that if any entity other than "Israel" had launched an attack on civilians in a shelter, Western governments, who claim to champion human rights, would have been quick to condemn the act and impose severe sanctions and restrictions.
Iran's Acting Foreign Minister further noted that the world witnesses these same governments turning a blind eye to the genocide of Palestinians by the Israeli regime, even going so far as to obstruct the UN Security Council from fulfilling its responsibilities. He asserted that the hypocrisy of Western governments is indisputable.
Meanwhile, Veldkamp called for restraint, a ceasefire, a reduction in violence, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Bagheri Kani urges Islamic unity
In the same vein, Bagheri Kani urged Islamic nations to unite and take decisive action to prevent the Israeli occupation from committing further crimes.
He made these remarks during a phone conversation with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, discussing the recent Israeli massacre in the Al-Tabieen school in Gaza City.
The talks highlighted the importance of adopting a unified stance against criminal Israeli actions and preserving stability and security in the region.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Marsudi condemned Haniyeh's assassination in Tehran, describing "Israel’s" actions as threats to international peace and security.
She lamented the killing of nearly 40,000 Palestinians in Gaza, emphasizing the necessity of focusing on reaching a ceasefire.
The Indonesian diplomat concluded by underscoring the importance of unity and solidarity, particularly among Islamic nations, to achieve a ceasefire.
