Iran rejects 'baseless accusations' on US bases attacks
Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations says his country has never conducted attacks on the US military in Syria or any other location.
Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, vehemently dismissed what he termed as "baseless accusations" by the United States against Tehran during a UN Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East and Syria.
Iravani underlined that Iran has never conducted attacks on the US military in Syria or any other location, emphasizing that such claims are unsubstantiated and part of a deliberate effort by the United States to divert attention from the violations of international law and the UN Charter in Syria, as quoted by the Iranian news agency IRNA.
The Iranian ambassador called on the United States to cease what he termed as "unlawful actions" in Syria, urging the US to end the illegal occupation and comply with international legal obligations, including relevant Security Council resolutions.
Iravani underscored Iran's commitment to promoting peace and security in the region while denying any involvement in actions against American military forces.
Moreover, Iravani criticized what he deemed as "the illegal presence of the US military forces in Syria and its continued occupation," asserting that it serves as a primary source of insecurity in Syria and provides a "fertile ground for the nourishment of terrorist organizations."
It is noteworthy that since October 17, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq affirmed its solidarity with Gaza and the Palestinian Resistance amid Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, stressing its commitment to direct strikes against the enemy, in response to the crimes of the Zionist-American aggression.
