Resistance targets US bases in Syria in response to aggression
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin says US military forces carried out precision strikes on facilities in eastern Syria.
Sources told Al Mayadeen that a rocket strike targeted the US occupation base in the Conoco gas field, northeast of Deir Ezzor in eastern Syria, in response to the American aggression on the cities of al-Mayadeen and al-Bukamal.
Earlier, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said US military forces carried out precision strikes on facilities in eastern Syria allegedly used by Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) and "Iran-affiliated groups" in response to continued attacks against US personnel in Iraq and Syria.
Austin claimed in a statement that the strikes targeted a training facility and a safe house near the cities of al-Bukamal and al-Mayadeen, respectively.
The sources confirmed that the popular Resistance targeted the US base with 15 rockets, revealing that it aimed at the command headquarters of the US military base in the Conoco gas field.
The sources noted that US helicopters moved from the base less than 10 minutes after the strikes, suggesting that the helicopters may have transported casualties.
A source told Al Mayadeen that several US soldiers were killed in the strikes that targeted the Conoco base in eastern Syria. Our correspondent in Syria mentioned that the attack on the US occupation base was carried out using Grad missiles and left four US soldiers killed.
The Resistance's second response to the American aggression came by targeting the US occupation base in al-Shadadi in al-Hasakah, northeast Syria, with three suicide drones, as per Al Mayadeen's sources, confirming that the drones have hit their targets.
Our correspondent in Syria reported that US warplanes carried out two airstrikes on locations near the bridge in the city of al-Mayadeen, east of Deir Ezzor. He confirmed that one person was killed while another was injured in the US airstrikes, adding that the bombing also targeted the al-Sayyal area in the city of al-Bukamal.
Later, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq confirmed that it targeted the US occupation base in the Green Village in Syrian territory with a drone that hit its target.
A source had confirmed to Al Mayadeen that the response to American aggression on Syria will be swift by intensified Resistance strikes on US bases.
The US Department of Defense admitted that 56 American soldiers were injured in about 46 attacks targeting US bases and forces in the Middle East since October 17.
The operations of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq against US bases and forces in Syria and Iraq continue in conjunction with Operation Al-Aqsa Flood in support of Gaza and the Palestinian people.
A couple of days ago, the Secretary-General of Iraqi Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada, Abu Alaa al-Walai, affirmed that the Resistance operations in Iraq will not stop unless Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip cease.
"There will be no truce with the US occupation in Iraq unless a genuine and binding ceasefire is established in the Gaza Strip," he stated.
He further noted that the safe withdrawal of US forces from Iraq depends on the secure and continuous arrival of humanitarian aid convoys to Gaza.
Al-Walai reaffirmed the strong commitment of Islamic resistance in Iraq to support Palestine, its people, and its resistance efforts.
