Iran-Russia alliance shows defiance of external pressure: Pezeshkian
"No international framework or law permits any country to bomb and massacre innocent people, even during times of war, yet the Zionists do so with ease," the Iranian President said.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed the importance of the newly signed comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Iran and Russia, framing it as a powerful statement against the excessive demands of their shared adversaries.
Speaking during an interview with Russia's Channel 1 on Friday, Pezeshkian described the agreement as a key step in fostering peace, security, and economic growth in the region.
The partnership, which aims to deepen bilateral cooperation, includes commitments to enhanced collaboration in security, politics, and economics, alongside practical projects in railways, trade, energy, and transportation infrastructure.
Pezeshkian noted that this agreement reflects both countries' commitment to mutual development and resistance to external pressures.
Unified Resistance
Addressing concerns about potential military threats from the United States or "Israel," Pezeshkian said, "Under the terms of our agreement, if either Iran or Russia is attacked by another country, we are committed not to cooperate with the aggressor in any way, and we will not permit such an attack to occur."
Pezeshkian also condemned the actions of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon, calling them crimes supported by the United States and Europe.
He criticized the lack of accountability, stating, "No international framework or law permits any country to bomb and massacre innocent people, even during times of war, yet the Zionists do so with ease."
Nuclear Truth
On the subject of Iran's nuclear policy, Pezeshkian rejected accusations that the country is pursuing nuclear weapons, aligning his comments with the principles of the Iranian Revolution.
"The Zionist regime and its allies are trying to convince the world that Iran is pursuing a nuclear bomb and fostering Iranophobia. However, both the views of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei) and our policies are firmly grounded in the belief that we are not seeking nuclear weapons — we have not done so in the past, and we will not do so in the future," he said.
Pezeshkian further accused Iran's adversaries of using media and financial dominance to misrepresent the country and its regional role. "If we unite and all countries that value freedom and independence come together, the totalitarianism and unilateralism of our enemies will be eliminated," he added.

Concluding his remarks, Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran seeks neither conflict nor unrest, despite the efforts of its adversaries to portray it as a source of regional insecurity.
"We are not seeking war, bloodshed, or unrest; however, our adversaries aim to convince people around the world that we desire to develop an atomic bomb and we are the source of insecurity in the region," he asserted.
