At the end of his official visit to Russia on Wednesday, Commander of the Ground Force of the Iranian Army Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari expressed that Iran and Russia will continue their fight against terror and more cooperation can be expected between the two nations.
The Commander called his visits to Moscow "timely and fruitful," detailing positive agreements during a meeting with Oleg Salyukov, the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Army's Ground Forces.
Heidari celebrated Iran's presence along with 70 other nations at Russia's Army-2023 International Military-Technical Forum, recalling that Iran's various land, sea, aerospace, missile, and electronic warfare capabilities astounded visitors and participants.
On the first day of his journey to Moscow, the Iranian Commander paid a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran's pavilion in Patriot Park, Moscow.
In addition, the Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces and Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin met on Wednesday to discuss the progress of defense cooperation.
The two spoke of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation, touching on bilateral security problems and shared viewpoints.
According to TASS, quoting the Russian Defense Ministry, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to expand conversation and improve the degree of growth of interaction in the defense domain.
Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi via phone, detailing a discussion that included expanding their interaction in regional and global affairs.
The presidents also expressed their satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two nations, expressing their determination to strengthen ties further in commerce, energy, transportation, logistics, and numerous other sectors.
In March, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian lauded his country's growing cooperation with Moscow, most notably in the fields of business, politics, culture, tourism, security, and defense.
Russia has also welcomed past Iranian positions on the Ukrainian war and its interest in a peaceful resolution of the crisis.
