Iran's coast guards hold maritime drill in Sea of Oman
Held under the motto "Empathy and Authority for Security," the naval exercise featured a parade of naval units from Sistan and Baluchestan province, as well as private vessels.
Iran's coast guard conducted a maritime exercise in southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province along the shores of the Sea of Oman, Press TV reported on Saturday.
The drill, named Mohammad Rasulullah 3 (Prophet Mohammad 3), commenced on Friday with a ceremony off the coast of the strategic port of Chabahar. The event was attended by Iran’s police chief, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Radan, alongside several provincial military and police commanders.
Held under the motto "Empathy and Authority for Security," the naval exercise featured a parade of naval units from Sistan and Baluchestan province, as well as private vessels.
The drill aimed to enhance the operational readiness of the Coast Guard, bolster their combat capabilities, and foster cooperation and coordination among marine units, coastal patrol teams, and various border guard forces.
Addressing the event, Radan emphasized that "through powerful measures and timely operations, the armed forces have kept enemies at bay and denied them the chance of launching an act of aggression on the sacred soil and waters of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
During the ceremony, the police chief also honored the families of several martyred coast guards, presenting them with plaques and gifts in recognition of their sacrifice.
Iran regularly conducts military exercises across the country to test its weaponry and equipment and to assess combat readiness. Officials have reiterated that Iran’s military capabilities, including its missile power, are solely defensive and non-negotiable.
