Iran's MFA spokesperson condemns massacre in Sudan's Wad al-Noura
Nasser Kanaani urges the international community and humanitarian organizations to mobilize to bring the clashes in Sudan to an end.
The killing and wounding of hundreds of innocent people in Sudan's Wad al-Noura is a horrific and shocking event, said Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani as he condemned the attack.
The attack targeted men, women, and children, and Iran is concerned about the ongoing conflict in Sudan, said Kanaani, as he stressed that the Sudanese people continue to face distressing circumstances along various conflict zones.
While expressing condolences to the bereaved families affected by the ongoing conflicts, he urged for a swift return to peace and normalcy in the conflict-stricken nation.
Kanaani called for an immediate halt to the killings and massacres of innocent people in Sudan, stressing the responsibility of the international community, especially human rights organizations, to take decisive actions to end the current situation in Sudan.

Darfur city's last hospital forced to shut down amid intense fighting
The sole functioning hospital in El-Fasher, in western Sudan, has ceased operations following an assault by paramilitary forces attempting to capture the critical Darfur city, as reported by Doctors Without Borders.
The conflict has persisted for over a year between the conventional military forces led by army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, once commanded by his former deputy, Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo.
El-Fasher, situated in North Darfur, stands as the sole state capital in the expansive western region not under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). It serves as a pivotal humanitarian center for a region teetering on the verge of famine.
"On Saturday, MSF and the ministry of health suspended all activities in South Hospital, El-Fasher, North Darfur, after RSF soldiers stormed the facility, opened fire and looted it, including stealing an MSF ambulance," said the NGO in a statement posted late Sunday on X.
