BREAKING
Sheikh Qassem: Our supporters make up more than half of Lebanon's population, and all of these people are united under the banner of protecting Lebanon, its Resistance, its people, and its integrity.
Sheikh Qassem: There will be no phased handing in of our arms. [The Israelis] must first enact the agreement before we start talking about a defensive strategy.
Sheikh Qassem: Be brave in the face of foreign pressures, and we will be by your side in this stance.
Sheikh Qassem: Stripping us of our arms is like stripping us of our very soul, and this will prompt us to show them our might.
Sheikh Qassem: We will not abandon our arms, for they gave us dignity; we will not abandon our arms, for they protect us against our enemy.
Sheikh Qassem: The US efforts we are seeing are aimed at sabotaging Lebanon and constitute a call for sedition.
Sheikh Qassem: If you truly want to establish sovereignty and work for Lebanon’s interests, then stop the aggression.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States, which is meddling in Lebanon, is not trustworthy but rather poses a danger to it.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States is preventing the weapons that protect the homeland.
Sheikh Qassem: The government’s latest decision [on the disarmament of the Resistance] is non-charter-based, and if the government continues down this path, it is not faithful to Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said he has chosen his government's ministers following consultations with senior authorities.

On August 11, almost two weeks after his swearing-in ceremony, Pezeshkian submitted a list of his ministerial picks to the Iranian parliament, which is expected to convene and take a vote of confidence for the 19 ministers on Wednesday, August 21.

During a meeting with lawmakers on Monday night, Pezeshkian stressed the importance of strong collaboration between the administration and Parliament to resolve issues.

The president noted that every ministerial nominee has been selected only after consultations with the country’s top officials.

He mentioned that his new administration has fulfilled its promise of "national consensus" and is now looking for lawmakers to show their support by approving his cabinet.

Pezeshkian says proposed 'national consensus' government to parliament

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that his recent cabinet line-up represents all the Iranian people, describing it as a "national consensus government" during a parliamentary session on Saturday.

"The government that has been introduced to the parliament today is a government of national consensus, and as I said in the inauguration ceremony, the government of national consensus considers itself as representative of all the Iranian people," Pezeshkian said while vetting his list of ministerial nominees.

"The national consensus government is obliged to ensure the citizenship rights of all Iranian people and is committed to securing national interests," he added.

The newly-inaugurated President highlighted the pillars to ensure the convergence between the government and other power branches of the political system through abiding by the constitution, achieving the objectives of the Vision Plan as outlined by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and implementing the 7th Development Plan.

Pezeshkian also emphasized that the system's current policies and measures will not be able to solve Iran's ongoing problems, asserting that the people's satisfaction with his administration's plans is important to him.

He added that some of the country's issues stem from inside the country rather than from outside; i.e. from foreign powers.
