Iran's response 'calculated', won't allow Netanyahu to 'save himself'
Former IRGC commander Mohsen Rezaei tells CNN that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is now "sinking in a swamp".
Iran's retaliation to the Israeli assassination of Hamas' politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran will be well measured so that Prime Minister Benjamin can not "save himself" from the crises he's in, former IRGC commander Mohsen Rezaei said in an interview with CNN released on Tuesday.
"Iranian actions will be very calculated ones," Rezaei said, adding, "We have investigated the possible repercussions. And we will not let Netanyahu, who is sinking in a swamp, save himself."

The former top IRGC official said that there has to be a ceasefire in Gaza soon, criticizing the United States and "Israel" for prolonging the war on the Strip.
"If in the first weeks of the Gaza war, the United States had stopped Israel and (Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu, the war would not extend," he said. "So the main element of the extension of the war are the US and Israel. The more this war extends, the more the United States will be damaged."
Iranian media quoted on Tuesday a spokesperson for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps as saying that Iran's retaliation will not replicate previous ones, and that "the waiting period for this response may be prolonged."
"For now, the Zionists must live in instability, and Iran’s response may not be a repeat of past operations," said Ali Mohammad Naeini, emphasizing that "the response scenarios are not the same."
"Our commanders have the experience and the art of effectively punishing the enemy and will not take hasty action," he added.
“Time is on our side and the waiting period for this response may be prolonged."
On the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, Naeini said that "Israel" is aware that it had failed its military objectives, and that "the Zionist regime has accepted defeat."
"Even American politicians have acknowledged this and have not yet achieved any of their goals," he continued.

Israeli media reported on Monday that Hezbollah’s threats and the prolonged anticipation of an Iranian response are pushing settlers to the brink, stating, “We cannot tolerate uncertainty. The anxiety of knowing we will be hit with an electric shock is easier to bear than not knowing when it will come.”
The report emphasized that the only thing worse than a disaster is the dread of its arrival—the uncertainty surrounding when, how, and with what intensity it will occur. It noted, “The anxiety is fueled by the prolonged wait in a state of uncertainty.”
Since October 7, 2023, "Israel" has been trapped in a chaotic reality beyond control, adding, "We must also examine what this unbearable situation has done to our collective psyche," the report concluded.
