The Iranian Border Guard announced Sunday that it seized an arms shipment on the southeastern borders coming toward Sistan and Baluchestan from abroad.

The seized shipment includes a large number of handguns, magazines, and ammunition, the border guard said, adding that one person was arrested in relation to the incident.

"This is the third shipment of weapons and ammunition found by the border guard in Sistan and Baluchestan after the latest riots in Iran," the Iranian Border Guard said in a statement.

An incident led to the killing of four Police staff in Bampur County in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan on Sunday.

The police chief of Bampur, Major Ali-Reza Sayyad, told IRNA that the incident occurred in the county at a police station launched for the safety of the roads on the Iranshahr-Bampur route.

Bampur is limited to the vicinities of Iranshahr from the north, and to Sarbaz County from the east.

This comes amid Western-backed riots in Iran, which began after the death of Iranian Mahsa Amini, who rioters claim was killed by the Iranian Police.

Meanwhile, Iranian sources reported on Sunday that the IRGC dismantled a terrorist group in the southwestern province of Khuzestan in Iran.

Official sources revealed that the terrorists confessed to planning on carrying out a series of assassinations targeting a number of high-profile figures, as well as triggering massive riots similar to those that occurred in the cities of Zahedan and Ardabil.

In related news, Tasnim news agency reported on the same day that a terrorist team attacked a military base in the city of Mahshahr, Khuzestan, at 2:25 am local time.

IRGC intelligence in Iran announced the arrest of 3 MKO terrorist cells in the riots before they carried out any acts in Khuzestan, Isfahan, and Fars.

The intelligence said that the terrorist units plan to recruit rioters, attack government and security centers, destroy property, and attempt to kill citizens.
