The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Ali Akbar Ahmadian met with Ismail Haniyeh the head of Hamas's Political Bureau on Monday in Tehran, Iran.
During the meeting, Ahmadian said that recent developments in occupied Palestine have terrified the leaders of the Israeli occupation. He also highlighted the role of resistance, labeling it as the "most effective strategy" to limit the occupation of Palestine in comparison to other approaches utilized in the past 75 years. The official also pointed to the battle of Seif Al-Quds, which resulted in strategic achievements for the Resistance.
Ahmadian reaffirmed that "Palestine is the leading cause in the Islamic world," as he emphasized that "strengthening the unity of Muslims, especially that of regional players involved in resistance, will constitute the biggest blow to the Israeli occupation and its supporters."
He also pointed that "the unity of the resistance factions and their support for the Islamic Jihad movement in Operation Avenging the Free" pushed the occupation into despair, as "the Palestinian Resistance, after fighting in Gaza to defend itself, has reached a stage of readiness where it is now strengthening its presence in the West Bank."
For his part, Haniyeh praised Iran's influential role in promoting unity and cooperation in the Islamic world and among Palestinian Resistance factions. He also presented the Iranian official with a report which included details of the political and tactical developments in occupied Palestine, as well as the Resistance's plans to maintain its operations against the Israeli occupation.
This comes after Ahmadian's meeting with Ziad Al-Nakhalah, the Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine (PIJ), and his accompanying delegation on Saturday. During the meeting, the two parties discussed the latest developments in Palestine, with a particular focus on the occupied West Bank.
During that meeting, the Secretary of the SNSC reaffirmed his country's unified stance in support of the struggle of the Palestinian people, emphasizing that the Palestinian issue is regarded as the central and sacred issue of the nation.
