Iran to respond if 'Israel' continues escalations: Top diplomat
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian warns against an immediate response against 'Israel' if it continues escalations, and an Iranian official warns the country will attack using weapons never used before.
On Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian warned that if "Israel" persists in escalating tensions with Tehran, it will encounter a swift and intensified reaction.
Amir-Abdollahian, as quoted by the Iranian Foreign Ministry during a phone call with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, stated that should the Israeli regime persist in its ventures and escalate the situation further, the response will be prompt and even more extensive.
Tehran's primary goal is to warn "Israel" on the potential circumstances of crossing the red lines, he added.
Additionally, Abolfazl Amoui, spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, affirmed that Iran stands prepared to deploy previously unused weaponry if necessary. He emphasized that Iran has devised comprehensive strategies for all potential scenarios in the event of Israeli escalation.
Earlier, a senior administration official anonymously noted that none of the drones launched by Iran were a direct threat to US troops, but the size and scope of the US response to an Iranian strike go well beyond anything seen in the decades-long standoff between both countries.
One US defense official told The Washington Post that "additional assets" were being moved to "bolster regional deterrence efforts and increase force protection for U.S. forces."
The Pentagon is now concerned about any potential risks that the current tensions may pose to the thousands of US troops positioned in the region.
IRGC launches 'unprecedented' retaliatory attack on 'Israel'
On Saturday, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force announced that it targeted Israeli positions in occupied Palestine with dozens of drones and missiles, as part of the retaliatory response to the malicious Israeli crime against the Iranian embassy in Syria.
Described as "unprecedented", by a Sky News correspondent, the IRGC's Aerospace Force announced that the operation dubbed "True Promise" was launched in the context of "punishing the criminal Zionist regime."
The force said that the operation came "in response to the numerous evil crimes of the Zionist regime," including the attack on the embassy. It said that its forces, supported by other units of the Iranian Armed Forces, launched the "wide-ranging" military operation.
