Iran urges energy embargo, other sanctions against 'Israel'
Iran's, Russia's, Azerbaijan's, Turkmenistan's, and Kazakhstan's top diplomats gathered in Moscow to discuss regional cooperation and other concerns.
In response to 'Israel's' bombardment in the Gaza Strip, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian called on the other Caspian Sea region governments on Tuesday to halt energy supplies to the occupation and prohibit imports of commodities from them.
Iran's, Russia's, Azerbaijan's, Turkmenistan's, and Kazakhstan's top diplomats gathered in Moscow to discuss regional cooperation and other concerns.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian addressed the media upon his arrival in the Russian capital, Moscow, discussing the objectives of his visit and emphasizing that the Palestinian issue will be a focal point in his meetings.
In his press statements, he mentioned that the primary objective is to participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the countries bordering the Caspian Sea. He further elaborated that the focus of the discussions will be centered around matters aimed at "enhancing economic cooperation between these countries".
He also indicated that he would engage in "bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the conference with my counterparts, particularly Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, to follow up on the latest agreements reached between the two countries."
During the meeting Amir-Abdollahian expressed that the exports should end and goods produced in the occupied territories should be embargoed, calling it the "least we can do in solidarity with the people of the Gaza Strip."
He also urged that the criminals of war in the Israeli occupation forces be punished by international courts.
The foreign minister had previously requested the 57-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation's executive council to impose political and economic penalties, including an oil embargo, on 'Israel' and to terminate diplomatic ties with the occupation.
Raisi: Martyrdom of innocents in Gaza spells end of 'Israel'
At the Iranian parliament on Tuesday, Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi declared that the murder of innocent Palestinian women and children spells the end of "Israel".
"The cruelty against the oppressed and powerful people of Palestine is a source of regret for all of us and humanity," he said, adding, "We believe that the martyrdom of Palestinian women and children will end the fake Zionist regime and that we will witness the victory of Palestinians as well as the elimination of Israelis."
Raisi expressed disappointment and frustration with those who identify as human rights advocates, alongside the US and the West, for turning a blind eye to the genocide in Gaza.
"It is more unfortunate that the international organizations and institutions, which are responsible for defending the oppressed, have lost their efficiency in the face of the global arrogance and the US' power," he stated.
