Iran's Islamic Revolution's Guard Corps (IRGC) announced Tuesday that during the Great Prophet 17 drills, fixed and mobile land and sea targets were hit accurately by attack drones and missiles.
Tasnim news agency said on the second day of the Great Prophet joint 17 exercises that the drills included training on coastal defense and fixed and mobile anti-landing operations tactics.
On the second day of the Great Messenger 17 exercise, two IRGC fighter jets and Su-22 bombers bombed ground targets using highly accurate, guided Yassin bombs.
The military exercise is meant to increase the preparedness of IRGC combat units
Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan, the IRGC's deputy head of operations and exercise spokesman, announced Monday the start of the exercise.
"The military exercise is meant to increase the preparedness of the IRGC combat units," Nilforoushan said, adding that "the military drills carry the message of defending and safeguarding national security."
During this exercise, he noted, the naval and airspace forces of the IRGC and the cyber-electronic unit in the coastal region of Hormozgan Province, Bushehr, and part of Khuzestan, will carry out strategic offensive operations simulating the forces assuming control of and destroying the bases of the enemy.
The general mobilization organization will also provide manpower for naval mobilization and ground combat operations, the spokesman for the exercises asserted.
In these exercises, he said, certain systems and weapons that have been recently delivered to the forces will be used in accordance with the tactics of the exercises.

General Tangsiri: The weapons used in today's exercise are Iranian made
For his part, IRGC naval force commander Brigadier General Alireza Tangsiri said Tuesday the Gulf is "our home," a place of peace and stability, and whoever puts our region and interests at risk would receive a decisive response.
On the sidelines of the Great Prophet 17 exercise, Tangsiri said the IRGC successfully carried out 16 operations this morning, explaining that all the equipment and weapons used were made in Iran during the period of the harshest sanctions.
He explained that - at this stage of the exercise - "we conducted exercises to confront simultaneous and multi-dimensional threats and succeeded in repulsing them." He stressed that Iran would never allow its enemies to look at even an inch of our land and water.
On Monday morning, the IRGC began the Great Prophet 17 joint exercise with the participation of its air, land, and naval forces in the provinces of Hormozgan, Bushehr, and Khuzestan.
