Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah called on the Lebanese people Wednesday not to hold any gatherings in Baalbek as the tanker trucks coming from Syria pass through it.
Sayyed Nasrallah has recently made a statement on the popular gatherings that the Lebanese are organizing to welcome the tankers in Baalbek on Thursday.
The Secretary-General said he knows the extent to which the people will react to this step and their sincerity; however, he asked them, as well as Hezbollah officials, not to hold any gatherings in the area in order to ensure the people's safety and comfort and to facilitate the transportation process as much as possible.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had announced Monday that the first Iranian tanker arrived in Syria's Baniyas on Sunday, announcing that it finished discharging its cargo.
Sayyed Nasrallah noted that this ship was a diesel tanker, adding that in a few days, another ship would arrive in Baniyas. All the necessary arrangements have been made for the third tanker, which will transport gasoline from Iran, he declared.
A fourth diesel tanker set for later will come to Lebanon because of winter, he announced. Later tankers will be decided upon based on the current government's path and the facts on the ground.
