Syria's Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli occupation forces' (IOF) military incursion in the Beit Jann area of rural Damascus, calling it a "blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity."
In a statement issued Monday, the ministry warned that this "serious escalation constitutes a direct threat to regional peace and security," highlighting that it once again embodies "the aggressive approach pursued by the occupation authorities, in blatant defiance of the provisions of international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions."
The statement added that the continuation of such violations "undermines stability efforts and exacerbates tensions in the region." It reiterated its call for the United Nations and the Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and take "urgent and effective measures to deter the occupation authorities and ensure accountability, safeguarding the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic."

Earlier, Syria TV reported a new incursion by the Israeli occupation forces into the Beit Jann area in the Damascus countryside, explaining that "an occupation military force consisting of 11 vehicles and more than 60 personnel penetrated the area."
Syrian media also revealed that the Israeli army took control of Tal Bat al-Warda on the slopes of Mount Hermon.

These developments come amid escalating Israeli violations inside Syrian territory, particularly along the border with the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
Following recent events on the Syrian political scene, the Syrian Arab News Agency reported a meeting between Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani and an Israeli delegation in the French capital, Paris, in the first official announcement between the two parties.
Continuous raids on Syrian land
Throughout August, the Israeli occupation forces have carried out consistent raids into Syrian territories. Last week, Israeli forces launched a series of deep incursions into Syrian land and terrorized its residents.
Per the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least six Israeli military vehicles stormed the town of Abdin, west of Daraa, at dawn on August 21, raiding homes for about an hour before capturing three young men and retreating toward the occupied Golan Heights.
A day prior, Israeli forces seized weapons and detained civilians during an operation near Mount Hermon under the guise of them committing cross-border arms smuggling between Syria and Lebanon. This raid was accompanied by the establishment of a new military post in the region.
A separate raid earlier on August 11 included roughly 100 soldiers, supported by 20 military vehicles and reconnaissance aircraft that heavily patrolled the skies of Taranja in the Quneitra countryside. IOF forces detained a young man during the raid and transported him to an undisclosed location.
