Iranian official denies drone attack on defense ministry in Isfahan
This comes after earlier reports that a drone attack targeting an Iranian Defense Ministry facility in Isfahan was thwarted.
The political and security assistant of the governor of Isfahan Mohammad Reza Jan Nathari denied earlier media reports about an attack on an Iranian Defense Facility in Isfahan.
The Iranian official told state news agency Mehr that no security incidents were reported in Isfahan last night. News that circulated on social media about the drone attack on the Ministry of Defense complex in Isfahan is not true, he added.
Nathari stressed that the military and security complexes of the Internal Security Forces are operating normally and are always ready to confront any threat.
The Iranian official's statement came after the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported on Wednesday that Iran foiled a drone attack targeting the Defense Ministry complex in Isfahan on Tuesday night.
The drone was downed by the Iranian air defense systems as it approached the “Amir-al-Mo’menin” complex of the Ministry, the agency said, adding that no damage was reported.

On January 28, Iran announced that three drones targeting the defense industrial complex in the central Iranian province of Isfahan were successfully thwarted.
The unsuccessful attack failed due to the preparedness of the defense system stationed in the region, the defense ministry said then, adding that the attack only caused minor damage to the roof of the equipment facility, while no casualties were reported.
Following investigations, Tehran held then the Israeli occupation responsible for the attack, forcing the Israeli military to raise the alert level across the entity.
