Iran's AEOI warns of Iran’s definitive response
Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Mohammad Eslami considers IAEA’s resolution against Iran as part of US attempts to pressure Tehran.
The Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Mohammad Eslami has condemned the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors' "unconstructive" decision to pass a resolution against Iran, warning it will elicit a strong response from Tehran.
Eslami made the remarks during a cultural ceremony in Isfahan on Sunday.
The top Iranian figure highlighted that the resolution would not resolve the existing problems, noting that the IAEA's director-general has already stated that passing such resolutions would not contribute to any progress in the issues.
“It appears that the three European states (the UK, France, and Germany) and the US are used to resorting to various means of pressure, including resolutions and sanctions, and this is fairly obvious that such pressures will be futile,” he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he stressed that Iran is moving forward in its peaceful nuclear operations in accordance with the Parliament's Strategic Action Plan to Counter Sanctions, emphasizing that anti-Iran resolutions do not impede Iran's nuclear program's progress.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) passed a resolution last Thursday urging Iran to comply with the probe involving the alleged find of uranium traces at three undeclared sites.
Despite Iran abiding by all the rules and conditions set by the UN watchdog, the West's pressure over the agency robbed it of the capacity to make any sound and fair rulings.
Earlier this month, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had told EU Chief Josep Borrell that an agreement for good and robust cooperation between Iran and the Agency is in the works.
