Iran appoints new IAEA ambassador
Mohsen Naziri is appointed as the new Iranian ambassador to the IAEA.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has chosen a new ambassador to the United Nations Office in Vienna and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Mohsen Naziri has been appointed as Iran's next permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Vienna, one of the UN's four major office locations where multiple UN organizations have a joint presence. Naziri will also represent Iran at the IAEA.
In a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian before leaving for his mission, Naziri described his work plan in Vienna and received several recommendations from the foreign minister.
Naziri, who holds a PhD in international law, previously served as Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva and has completed various assignments at international organizations.

Earlier this week, the head of the country's Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammed Eslami, said that Iran would keep the UN nuclear watchdog's cameras off until the 2015 nuclear deal is restored.
"We will not turn on the IAEA cameras until the other side returns to the nuclear deal," Eslami said.
"We will decide about the ...cameras added under the nuclear deal after the Westerners return to the accord and we are sure they won't do anything mischievous," Eslami added.
He also said Iran would not accept to address alleged unexplained uranium traces, adding that the 2015 nuclear deal had cleared Iran of the claimed PMD (possible military dimensions) allegations.
