Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein has called for an emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers while coordinating with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, on regional developments in light of the Israeli war on Iran.
As current chair of the Arab Summit, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein called Wednesday for an emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers to be held alongside next week’s Organization of Islamic Cooperation gathering in Istanbul, according to an Iraqi Foreign Ministry statement.
According to the statement, the emergency meeting aims to align Arab positions regarding rapid regional developments and address current challenges through what it described as a collective and responsible approach.
Previously, the Iraqi government expressed its complete disapproval of "Israel" violating Iraq's airspace and using it while conducting airstrikes on Iran.
In a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, Hussein also examined the latest regional developments, particularly the evolving dynamics of the ongoing war on Iran and their repercussions for regional security and stability.
