The Iraqi Air Force on Sunday struck an ISIS hideout and vehicle in Diyala, east of the capital Baghdad, and Kirkuk, north of Iraq, based on intelligence from the Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate.
The Iraqi Army also seized a quantity of improvised explosive devices and military weapons.

The operation coincided with the Security Media Cell (SMC) announcing the launching of the seventh phase of Operation Swords of Righteousness to dismantle ISIS remnants, under the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces and the supervision and planning of the Joint Operations Command (JOC).

The seventh phase of Operation Swords of Righteousness will see the participation of units from the Salahaldin, Kirkuk, West Nineveh, Anbar, East Salahaldin, and Diyala commands, supported by precise intelligence from the Iraqi Air Force.
"Our strategy focuses on maintaining pressure on defeated ISIS elements and preventing their resurgence in complex terrain," the SMC indicated, adding that the operation "reaffirms our commitment to eradicating terrorist threats."
The statement confirmed that the operation achieved fruitful results after several terrorist hideouts were destroyed and a quantity of explosive devices and logistical materials were seized.
