The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced Tuesday that it attacked the US occupation's base in al-Omar oil field in Syria.

The attack, which consisted of a barrage of rockets, was reportedly not intercepted and caused casualties for the US forces.

The US forces in Iraq and Syria have been attacked some 89 times in recent weeks, Pentagon Press Secretary Pat Ryder said Tuesday.

"We are tracking approximately 89 attacks at this time," Ryder said during a press briefing.

An Al Mayadeen correspondent reported today that the Iraqi Resistance targeted the Ain al-Assad occupation base for the second time today.

According to the correspondent, the base was targeted using drones and achieved direct hits.

The operation was carried out in response to US complicity in the Gaza genocide according to the Iraqi Resistance.

Earlier in the day, the Resistance targeted an occupation base at Shaddadi in Syria with a barrage of rockets. The resistance confirmed it achieved direct hits.

Sources further confirmed to Al Mayadeen that several rockets had targeted the US base in al-Shadadi, noting that one of the rockets struck the headquarters of the US-backed SDF militia near the base.

The source noted that a US drone fell near the Shadadi-Tal Jayer road south of al-Hasakah, followed by US forces enforcing a security cordon in the area.

On another note, Al Mayadeen's correspondent then reported multiple explosions in the vicinity of the occupation base at Green Village near the Omar oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Resistance factions in Iraq have previously said they consider US occupation bases in the region as legitimate targets, as the US has offered "Israel" its "unwavering support", enabling it to carry out its massacres against the Palestinian people, by offering it the necessary military, financial, and diplomatic backing.

Two days ago, the Resistance announced the execution of 11 operations against US occupation bases in both Iraq and Syria.

All operations were carried out within the same day and involved the use of dozens of rockets and drones.

A senior member of the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades Abu Ali al-Askari confirmed that Resistance operations against the US occupation "will persist until the US withdrawal from Iraq."

The US Department of Defense has stated that the rate of attacks against the US military in Iraq and Syria has increased by 45% in the last three weeks.

In late November, The American Conservative magazine published a report by Greg Carlstrom entitled "Our National Disgrace in Iraq and Syria," in which it said that US forces were risking their lives "needlessly" due to "policy paralysis and lack of political courage."
