Sources reported to Al Mayadeen hearing several explosions inside a US base in the city of al-Shadadi, south of al-Hasakah in Syria, on Tuesday, likely to be the result of "multiple missiles launched by the Islamic Resistance factions in Iraq targeting the base."

"No information is available yet about the extent of the losses due to the attack," the sources added.

Later, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq issued a statement, in which it claimed responsibility for the attack. The group said its fighters targeted al-Shadadi base in Syria with a salvo of rockets, vowing to continue to target the enemy's strongholds "in response to the Zionist entity’s massacres against our people in Gaza."

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, on Monday, launched drone strikes on the US occupation base of Harir in northern Iraq.

The Resistance said its fighters launched several drones toward the US occupation base situated near the Erbil airport in the country's north.

This follows a similar operation that took place on Sunday, wherein the US base at Kharab al-Jir Airport and al-Malikiyah base in the northern countryside of al-Hasakah, northeastern Syria, were targeted with several rocket shells. However, no information was provided about the extent of the losses.

Earlier on Friday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced that a few days ago, it hit an important target in the Mediterranean Sea, confirming a direct hit. Before that, it targeted the occupied Palestinian city of Umm al-Rashrash ("Eilat") using appropriate weaponry against a specific target, stressing the continued implementation of attacks against the Israeli occupation.

The Iraqi Islamic Resistance on Wednesday shared footage of an operation that involved the targeting of Ain al-Assad base in Iraq. The operation was conducted on December 11 via attack drones.

Last week, a US military official revealed to Al Mayadeen that as of December 13, US forces and coalition forces came under at least 97 attacks in Iraq and Syria since October 17.

The US official confirmed that the attacks in both countries involved the use of drones, rockets, and short-range ballistic missiles, noting that the attacks amounted to 45 in Iraq and 52 in Syria.

At the time, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that US occupation forces at the Ain al-Assad base in western Iraq were targeted. Later, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for the drone attack, confirming direct hits.

In support of the Palestinian people and their Resistance and in response to the US backing of "Israel" amid the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq continues to target US bases and targets in the region, with Fox News reporting on December 17 that the number of attacks on US forces in Syria and Iraq exceeded 100 in around two months.
