The Iraqi Resistance will continue the mission of the late Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who devoted his life to defending the oppressed, pledged Qais al-Khazali, the Secretary-General of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq group.
Speaking on Sunday, al-Khazali paid tribute to Sayyed Nasrallah, describing him as a "great man who spent his entire life in the path of jihad and defense of the oppressed."
He reaffirmed that Sayyed Nasrallah’s promise of victory over the Israeli occupation regime would inevitably be fulfilled.
“We pledge to martyr Nasrallah that we will continue on this path until the land is cleansed of the usurping Zionist regime,” he stressed.
According to Hani Khater, head of the Tehran office of Iraq's Al-Ahed news, approximately 200,000 Iraqi citizens have traveled to Lebanon to attend the funeral procession of Sayyed Nasrallah and his successor, Sayyed Hashem Safieddine.
“Today is one of the days of discovering the truth for all the people of the world, not just for Muslims,” Khater indicated, pointing out that the massive turnout at the funeral reflects Lebanon’s and the resistance’s triumph.
He highlighted that Sayyed Nasrallah’s ideological legacy would continue to resonate throughout the region.
“The final victory and the decline of the Zionist regime will begin from this school of thought, and God willing, it will be achieved,” Khater added.
Today, the official funeral ceremonies for Sayyed Nasrallah and Sayyed Safieddine commenced at Camille Chamoun Sports City in the capital, Beirut, at 1:00 p.m.
The proceedings continued until the martyrs' bodies arrived at the courtyard of Sayyed Nasrallah’s mausoleum on the outskirts of Beirut.
Sayyed Safieddine is set to be laid to rest on Monday in his hometown of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr in southern Lebanon.
Sayyed Nasrallah majorly shaped the Resistance Axis: Iraqi Al-Nujaba
Khazali's remarks echo those of Sheikh Ali al-Asadi, the head of the Political Council of the Iraqi al-Nujaba Movement, who said that Sayyed Nasrallah's directives were the main factor that developed the resistance and shaped the Axis of Resistance.
Sheikh al-Asadi emphasized that Sayyed Nasrallah continuously monitored the resistance's operations room while allowing each front the flexibility to act according to its field conditions.
He stressed that the Islamic Resistance in Iraq was guided by Sayyed Nasrallah's opinions and that he meticulously followed up on even the smallest details in direct communication with the leadership.
Sayyed Nasrallah, according to the al-Nujaba chief, established a jihad ideological school to alleviate the suffering of the Ummah and ensured alternatives in case of his absence, guaranteeing the continuity of the resistance's path.
