Iraq's al-Sadr calls for million-man march in support of Gaza
The leader of Iraq's Sadrist Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, says the Palestinian Resistance humiliated the Israeli occupation and condemns the lack of action regarding Gaza.
The Palestinian Resistance humiliated the arrogant Israeli occupation, and the latest battle, Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, proved that the Israeli occupation is more frail than a spider's web, Sadrist Movement leader Muqtada al-Sadr said Tuesday.
The leader of the Iraqi movement shamed the Arab leader "who stood idle regarding the situation in Gaza, even when its people were blocked from receiving water and food."
Al-Sadr underlined that he was in awe over the unjust West's stance regarding what has been taking place in Gaza, saying the West was supporting Ukraine "under the guise that it is being dealt an injustice, but they do not support revolutionaries who are demanding the protection of their land."
On a similar note, al-Sadr underlined that countries from the Global South were beginning to topple major powers, citing as evidence what has happened in Africa.
"We have been entrusted with reclaiming al-Quds and the occupied territories in Palestine," he said, praising the people of Gaza for their struggle and patience in the face of all they have been dealt.
Al-Sadr urged on Monday the Iraqi people to rally, calling for a million-man protest that brings together the Iraqi people from numerous governorates in Iraq's Freedom Square to raise the voice of the struggle against the occupation.
Regional support
Earlier in the day, Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei announced that Operation Al-Aqsa Flood constituted an irrecoverable military and intelligence defeat for the Israeli occupation.
“I say that this devastating earthquake has managed to destroy some of the main structures of the usurping regime's governance, which cannot be rebuilt so easily,” he added.
He also assured that it was the Palestinians who conducted this epic operation, which will be a huge leap toward liberating Palestine.
Sayyed Khamenei emphasized that those who think otherwise are wrong, and they do underestimate the Palestinian people.
Additionally, the Iranian leader affirmed that "when oppression and criminality exceed all limits, and when brutality comes to a peak, one should expect a storm," in reference to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
He stated that "the courageous actions and great sacrifices" made by the Palestinians were a response to the Israeli occupation's crimes over the years.
He concluded by noting that "the wicked, oppressive enemy tries to play the role of the oppressed after receiving a huge blow, but no one can depict this satanic monster as an oppressed entity."
Amir-Abdollahian calls for unity of Islamic nations in solidarity with Palestine
On his account, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has called for an emergency meeting of the foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation regarding "the Zionist crimes in Gaza," reaffirming Tehran's readiness to host it.
Additionally, Amir-Abdollahian, in a phone call with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, emphasized the need to strengthen the efforts of Islamic countries to assist the Palestinian people.
This comes as "Israel" has intensified its brutal airstrikes across Gaza, leading to hundreds of killings and thousands of injuries among civilians, including journalists.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the number of martyrs resulting from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has surpassed 704, with the number of injuries exceeding 3,900.
Journalists Saeed al-Taweel, Mohammad Sobh, Hisham al-Nwajha, and others were martyred in an Israeli bombing that targeted areas in the western Gaza Strip, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported.
