IRGC arrest terror cell affiliated with Kurdish separatists in Iraq
Iran announces the arresting of a 10-member terror cell working for separatist groups in the northwest region of the country.
Iran's Ministry of Security announced the arresting of a terror cell working for separatist groups in the northwest region of the country, bordering Iraq, Armenia and Turkey.
The cell, according to the ministry, consists of 10 members who were arrested trying to cross into Iran through the West Azerbaijan province borders, revealing that the cell was preparing "acts of sabotage, bombing and attack on important economic centers."
The ministry's statement revealed that "The cell is supported by terrorists located in the Kurdistan region of Iraq," and that "electronic devices and a number of weapons in the cell's possession were confiscated."

The "Hamza Sayyid Al-Shuhada" brigade of the Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps announced the arrest of the terror cell members who were attempting to enter Iranian territory through the Salmas region of the West Azerbaijan province.
In a statement, the brigade wrote that "Members of this terrorist cell were ambushed on the border of the city of Salmas, located in the West Azerbaijan Province; they were completely eliminated, and their equipment and ammunition were seized."
Last June, Iranian security published details of the arresting of a Mossad spy cell after monitoring the cell for eight months.
Last April, three Israeli Mossad spies were arrested in the provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan upon judicial order. According to Iranian intelligence, the spies were involved in disseminating classified information and documents.
