IRGC deputy chief: Iran is fully committed to avenging Haniyeh
Commodore Ali Fadavi speaks to Al Mayadeen to affirm the inevitability of an Iranian response to "Israel's" assassination of martyr Ismail Haniyeh.
"The orders of the Leader of the Revolution are clear and explicit regarding punishing the occupation and avenging the blood of the martyr Haniyeh," the Deputy Chief of the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Commodore Ali Fadavi, told Al Mayadeen.
Commodore Fadavi emphasized that the directives of the Leader of the Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, will be carried out to the best possible outcome, highlighting that Iran is fully committed to this cause.
Iran has promised a stern response to the Israeli regime after it assassinated Hamas leader martyr Ismail Haniyeh in the Iranian capital Tehran. Martyr Haniyeh had attended the inauguration of the newly-elected President Masoud Pezeshkian before heading to his residence in northern Tehran. In the early hours of July 31, Israeli operatives assassinated the head of Hamas' political bureau via a short-range projectile that carried a nearly 7 kg warhead.
In their own response to the assassination of martyr Haniyeh, Hamas top officials mobilized to finalize talks and consultations for the election of a new head of the politburo. On August 6, Hamas announced the architect behind October 7's, Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Yahya Sinwar, as the new leader of its political bureau.
Sinwar's unanimous selection for the highest organizational role in the Islamic Resistance Movement marked Hamas' steadfast approach to resisting the Israeli regime, despite the hefty prices that it has paid as a result of this choice.

Qud Force commander conrtagulates Sinwar
Earlier on Friday, the commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, sent a message to Sinwar, extending his congratulations and affirming Iran's continued support for the Palestinian Resistance against the Israeli occupation.
"As the Leader of the Revolution [Sayyed Ali Khamenei] has stated, we consider it our duty to avenge [Haniyeh's] blood for this bitter incident that occurred within the territory of the Islamic Republic," Qaani underlined in the message.
Iran has refused to tone down its retaliatory strike for the martyrdom of Haniyeh, affirming that its actions come in line with attempts to ensure regional stability and security.
Meanwhile, the United States has mobilized its forces and diplomats in hopes of mitigating the effects of the Iranian strike on Israeli assets. The anticipated response comes in the context of a couple of Israeli crimes executed in Yemen's Hodeidah and Lebanon's Southern Suburbs of Beirut, where the Israeli occupation killed 14 and injured another 90 in multiple strikes and assassinated Hezbollah commander martyr Fouad Shokor, respectively, only fueling regional tensions.
