Irish MP: "Israel’s" murder of Shireen Abou Akleh is a war crime
While the whole world condemns Russia and sanctions it, MP Richard Boyd Barrett says not enough is being done to support Palestinians.
Earlier this week, Ireland had issued a statement condemning the murder of journalist Shireen Abou Akleh and calling for an independent investigation into the incident. However, MP Richard Boyd Barrett thought this was not enough and had more to say.
Barrett scolded the Irish Parliament and called "Israel’s" killing of Shireen Abou Akleh for what it is: A war crime
During his speech, Boyd says “what the hell were the IDF (IOF) doing carrying out an “operation” on Palestinian territory?”
The horrific murder of journalist Shereen Abu Aqleh in Jenin is nothing short of a war crime, and must be treated as such. Condemnation is not enough.

He further drew a parallel and asked Parliament why they have not treated Palestinian territory in the same way they treated Ukraine, describing the Israeli incursion into Jenine for what it is: “A brutal, unjustifiable, inexcusable act of military aggression.”
He further explains that "Israel’s" aggression on Jenine has been happening day in and out while the international community remains quiet. The Irish MP is furious as to why "Israel" does not get the same treatment in being held accountable for its infringement on international law and Palestinian rights.
