Islamic Proximity World Forum hails call for inter-Islamic dialogue
The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought hails the call of Al-Azhar’s Imam Ahmad Al-Tayeb for inter-Islamic dialogue.
Today, Monday, the Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hamid Shahriari, welcomed the call of Al-Azhar's Imam Ahmad Al-Tayeb for dialogue between Sunni and Shia Muslim scholars.
Shahriari said in a letter to the sheik of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, "Your willingness to embrace the Islamic-Islamic dialogue is evidence of the seriousness of your call."
The Secretary-General of the Assembly added, "We truthfully and sincerely want this call to achieve its goals, and we have always announced our support for your pioneering civilized calls."
Shahriari pointed out that Al-Azhar's call for inter-Islamic dialogue is a "call for the reunification of hearts, transcending national and sectarian factors of fragmentation, prioritizing the interests of the [Islamic] nation."
Moreover, Shahriari also expressed his "solidarity with the calls for inter-Islamic dialogue," adding, "we will place all of our capacities in service of the success of your endeavor.
A few days ago, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb, invited Shia Muslim scholars to hold an inter-Islamic dialogue aimed at rejecting "sedition and sectarian conflict," at a time when several countries in the region and the world are experiencing tensions.
