'Israel' appeals to US for more missiles, artillery shells
The Biden administration reports to Congress the urgent weapons the Israeli occupation is requesting.
Last night, the Biden administration reported to Congress regarding the urgent weapons the Israeli occupation is requesting.
Two sources familiar with the discussion told Politico that "Israel's" request for extra weapons came up during a briefing for congressional leaders and the chairmen of security-focused committees on Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
Officials told legislators that the occupation was in urgent need of precision-guided missiles and more interceptors for the Iron Dome air system. One of the people familiar with the call said "Israel" is also seeking more US-made small-diameter bombs.
The request comes amid strained supply chains for arms manufacturers amid the war in Ukraine.
One source indicated that legislators will likely receive a secret briefing this week, in addition to the briefing on Sunday night.
The US President and members of both parties pledged quick granting of "Israel" weapons to continue its aggression on Gaza, albeit this may need some further approval from Congress.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stated after the briefing that the upper chamber "stands ready to deliver on additional needs."
In a statement, Schumer expressed that he “asked the representatives of our Defense Department if they are giving Israel everything they need, and I was heartened that they said yes and that they are surging support."
Ben Cardin (D-Md.), the Senate Foreign Relations Chair, promised to submit legislation to replenish interceptors launched by Iron Dome systems.
A source detailed that officials warned senators that the administration is considering using some of the $100 million in presidential drawdown power to deliver weapons from US military stocks, which is bound to strain the Pentagon and military complex already struggling to grant new contracts and accelerate production of particular weapons already deployed to Ukraine.
The House will not be able to enact legislation until a new speaker is elected to replace Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who was dismissed last week, prompting some to demand his reinstatement.
At least 90 children killed at IOF hands since aggression on Gaza

In updated figures of the victims of the Israeli aggression for the third day, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that 560 citizens were martyred and 2,900 others were injured with various injuries.
On Monday afternoon, Israeli occupation warplanes committed a massacre in the Jabaliya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, killing about 50 Palestinians.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army pursued its intense airstrike on many areas in the Gaza Strip for the third day in a row following the aggression, while the occupation police closed more than 10 highways and intersections between the settlements of the Gaza Envelope.
Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada of Iraq warned Washington against any interference in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
According to Lebanese news outlet Al-Ahed, the group stressed that "Palestine is not Ukraine" and that any interference or support the US extends to the Israeli entity would make US bases in the region targets for the Resistance.
Biden previously affirmed that the US supports "Israel" and is committed to providing the necessary aid to ensure its continued aggression against the Palestinian Resistance.
