'Israel' fears Iranian-Egyptian rapprochement
Several Israeli media outlets have expressed present fears regarding improved ties between Tehran and Cairo after Sayyed Ali Khamenei welcomed the restoration of relations between the two countries.
Improved diplomatic relations between Iran and Egypt will reflect negatively on "Israel", according to Israeli media outlets.
Yaron Schneider, the Arab affairs expert for Israeli Channel 12, said that Egypt is currently undergoing a process of normalizing and improving its relations with Iran, adding that the level of diplomatic relations between the two has been raised from that of charge d'affaires to the ambassadors.
Schneider pointed out that the Egyptian-Iranian rapprochement also coincided with the Sultan of Oman's visit to Iran where he met Sayyed Khamenei after the former was in Egypt where he supposedly blessed the rapprochement process.
Furthermore, the military affairs expert, Nir Dvori, for the Israeli news channel said that Iran is working on dismantling the coalition which "Israel" built with several Arab governments as it attempted to besiege Tehran politically and economically.
Dvori took a special interest in the re-amendment of ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran, which came after a ground-breaking Chinese-mediated deal in mid-March, as he believes Egypt will follow in Riyadh's footsteps.
Channel 12's expert further predicted that the Egyptian and Iranian heads of state will soon embrace each other.
Earlier today, during their meeting in Tehran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei reacted to Egypt's willingness to restore ties with Iran. Sayyed Khamenei expressed, "We welcome this position and have no problem in this regard."
"These issues are the outcome of the Raeisi government’s good policy to develop and strengthen relations with neighbors and regional states," he said regarding the Omani Sultan’s satisfaction with the restoration of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
