Iran welcomes revival of relations with Egypt: Sayyed Khamenei
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi says Iran and Oman enhance their cooperation from a level of simple trade to cooperation on investment projects.
During a meeting in Tehran with the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei indicated on Monday that both Iran and Oman will benefit from closer bilateral cooperation, as per state-run news agency IRNA.
"We believe that the expansion of bilateral relations in all fields benefits both sides," said Sayyed Khamenei, pointing out that "increasing Iran-Oman cooperation is significant because the two countries share the very important Strait of Hormuz waterway."
Touching on talks between officials from the two countries, the Iranian leader stressed that the negotiations should be followed up seriously until they produce tangible results.
Sayyed Khamenei called on regional countries to be well aware of the policies of the Israeli occupation and its supporters that aim to fuel disagreements in the region and destabilize regional security.
Reacting to bin Tariq's comments on Egypt's willingness to restore ties with Iran, Sayyed Khamenei expressed, "We welcome this position and have no problem in this regard."
"These issues are the outcome of the Raeisi government’s good policy to develop and strengthen relations with neighbors and regional states," he said regarding the Omani Sultan’s satisfaction with the restoration of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
On Sunday, bin Tariq arrived in Tehran at the head of a high-ranking delegation at the invitation of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
On the same day, both sides signed four documents to boost cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, and energy sectors.
