The number of Palestinian martyrs is constantly on the rise as the Israeli occupation continues shelling residential areas in the Gaza Strip, with one of the latest massacres affecting a UNRWA school wherein refugees are residing as they fled Israeli bombardment, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported on Tuesday.

The school is affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in the Maghazi area in central Gaza.

The Gaza Palestinian government's media office also announced that the Israeli occupation forces committed several massacres on Tuesday, which resulted in about 80 martyrs and wounded dozens of others.

In total, the Israeli occupation has since the start of its aggression on Gaza murdered 3,000 people, including at least 940 children, with more than 12,500 others wounded.

The Israeli occupation's air force extensively bombarded Khan Yunis and Rafah in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said, revealing that these two cities were home to the largest number of casualties.

The Israeli occupation is practically chasing the Palestinian refugees it ordered to flee the north, as it bombed the Breij refugee camp in central Gaza, martyring and wounding dozens of civilians.

Upon announcing the toll of Israeli aggression on Gaza on Monday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said the aggression on the Strip killed 2,670 people and wounded 9,600 others, but it also noticed that: "There are still many martyrs and survivors under the rubble due to the continued Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip."

"The occupation has been committing massacres for 9 days in plain sight," the Ministry added. "The bombardment continues in Gaza. No place is safe."

UN says Gaza witnessing a human catastrophe

The Gaza Strip, according to the United Nations, is grappling with an "unprecedented human catastrophe" as the Israeli occupation's relentless strikes have martyred thousands across the Palestinian territory.

Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, expressed grave concern over the humanitarian situation and the severe impact of the ongoing aggression.

For the past eight days, Gaza has been cut off from essential resources, including water, wheat, and fuel. "Not one drop of water, not one grain of wheat, not a liter of fuel has been allowed in the Gaza Strip," said Lazzarini during a press conference. "Raise the alarm that as of today, my UNRWA colleagues in Gaza are no longer able to provide humanitarian assistance as I speak."

The situation is becoming increasingly dire, with Gaza's population effectively being strangled by the conflict. Lazzarini emphasized that "Gaza is running out of water, and Gaza is running out of life."

Earlier in the day, the Israeli occupation informed White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan that water pipes in southern Gaza were turned back on after the citizens of Gaza spent days without any water due to the stifling, aggressive Israeli policies.

"I have been in touch with my Israeli counterparts just within the last hour who reported to me that they have, in fact, turned the water pipe back on in southern Gaza," Sullivan told CNN.

On his part, Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz said Sunday that the decision to renew water supplies to parts of southern Gaza was agreed on between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden, highlighting the latter's complicity in the oppression of the people of Gaza.

The decision to partially renew water supplies was in line with the Israeli policy, he underlined, which he went on to explain was tightening the blockade on Gaza.

The Israeli occupation is trying to drive the Palestinian people from northern Gaza into its South in a bid to empty the Strip's north in preparation for a ground invasion that would take the lives of thousands of people were it to take place.
