'Israel' trying to punish Syria, leading conspiracy in Sweida: Wahhab
The Lebanese politician stresses that"Israel" has a decision to cause great instability in the southern region of Syria.
The head of the Arab Unification Party, Wiam Wahhab, pointed out on Wednesday that the overwhelming majority of the people of Sweida Governorate support Syria's unity.
Since last month, the southern city of Sweida witnessed demonstrations against the backdrop of the deteriorating economic situation.
During an exclusive interview with Al Mayadeen, Wahhab said there are some sides that are inciting strife and inflaming the situation in Sweida in exchange for money with the support of some Arab sides.
"The overwhelming majority of the people of #Sweida stand united with #Syria, but there are those who work over the phone in exchange for money to fuel tensions there, and some Arab entities support this."

He indicated that "Israel" is attempting to punish Syria, leading a conspiracy in Sweida.
The Lebanese politician suggested that through the recent events in Sweida, the Israeli occupation is telling the Syrian state that it has crossed the red lines in facilitating arming the Resistance, both in Lebanon and occupied Palestine, and that Syria "will pay the price" for that.
Wahhab noted, however, that not all demonstrators are affiliated with the plans of the occupation entity, stressing that the Israelis have made a decision to cause great instability in the southern region of Syria.
"Israel is trying to punish #Syria and is orchestrating a conspiracy in #Sweida. Yet, not all the protesters are affiliated with the occupying entity."

On his part, a member of the Syrian People's Assembly, Khaled al-Abboud, told Al Mayadeen that the planned scenario for Sweida Governorate is executed by the US and "Israel" and is part of a chain of fire extending across Syrian territories, starting from the far northeast of Syria with the Jordanian border to the far southwest of occupied Palestine.
He further added that the United States is managing this chain of fire, whether in Sweida or the fabricated chaos in Quneitra and Daraa Governorate.
He pointed out that the Americans and Israelis believe that Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah are now within a stone's throw away from the occupied Palestinian territories starting from the southern line of Syria, adding that both Washington and "Tel Aviv" believe that if the Syrian state secures the stability of the southern region, the Resistance and the Syrian army will reach occupied al-Quds.
During the exclusive interview, Al Mayadeen broadcasted an exclusive video aired for the first time about the ISIS attack on the village of Al-Shabaki in the Sweida countryside in 2018, which claimed the lives of more than 200 people and resulted in the terrorist organization kidnapping 30 women and children.

Earlier, Sheikh Moanes Jaber, director of Sheikh Nasr al-Din al-Gharib's office, pointed out that the economic situation that Syria is going through is the result of the Caesar Act and the American blockade imposed on Syria.
"They tried to subjugate al-Sham through a global conspiracy and a comprehensive war, but the Syrian army and the [Syrian] people confronted them under wise leadership," Jaber indicated.
He continued, "Today, they are attempting to tighten the economic blockade, and it is natural that every country that goes through a period of war suffers from a difficult economic situation."
Jaber said he supported the rightful demands of the Syrian people, noting that the economic situation is affecting the whole Syrian territory and is not limited to one area or another.
Elsewhere, he called for caution against media fabrications managed by suspicious parties.
