Israeli aggression targets 20 communications, electronic warfare sites
The Israeli army continues striking Syrian military sites, aiming to neutralize the Syrian army's combat capabilities.
Israeli media reported that the Israeli Air Force targeted and destroyed approximately 20 Syrian army sites, including those belonging to the communications and electronic warfare corps, in a new wave of attacks on the evening of December 13.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Syria reported that Israeli aircraft struck weapons depots in the village of Muhajja, located in the countryside of Daraa, at dawn today.
Israeli warplanes launched an attack targeting the Scientific Research Center and Defense Factories in the al-Safira area, in Aleppo's southern countryside, in northern Syria, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported. Another wave of strikes targeted a Syrian radar battalion in al-Ruhaybah, in Damascus' countryside.
On Friday evening, a series of strikes targeted the Syrian Army headquarters and military depots in the countryside of Latakia and Tartous, while another set of airstrikes targeted the outskirts of Damascus and the Qalamoun mountains.
Israeli media reported that "Israel" had dropped 1,800 bombs on over 500 targets in Syria within a span of just a few hours.
He added that "Israel" has effectively destroyed Syria's air defense, allowing it to use Syrian airspace with complete freedom, further stating that this could transform Syria into a launchpad for attacks against Iran.
Syrian interim government calls on UNSC to force 'Israel' to withdraw
On a related note, Syria's interim government is urging the UN Security Council to take measures to force "Israel" to halt its attacks on Syrian territory and withdraw from northern areas it has entered, in violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, reported the Associated Press earlier today.
In identical letters to the UN Security Council and Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, obtained by The Associated Press on Friday, Syria’s UN Ambassador Koussay Aldahhak stated he was acting "on instructions from my government" in issuing the demands.
Earlier this week, Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Qusay al-Dahhak, called on the UNSC and the secretary-general to prevent "Israel" from exploiting the turnover period that the country is experiencing.
