Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in the Gaza Strip reported that injuries were sustained in the past 24 hours as the Israeli occupation continued to target gatherings of civilians in eastern areas of the besieged territory, in clear violation of the ongoing ceasefire.
Occupation aircraft launched multiple air raids on the eastern outskirts of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip. Additionally, a Palestinian fisherman was injured by occupation gunfire in the Rafah area, while Israeli warships opened fire off the coast of Khan Younis.
The continued attacks on civilian areas come amid growing concerns over the fragility of the declared ceasefire. The injury of the fisherman in Rafah and naval fire directed toward the coast underscore the scope of the violations, extending across land and sea.
In an official statement, Hamas condemned the ongoing aggression, describing it as part of the occupation’s "war of extermination" against Gaza, highlighting that the latest attack involved the detonation of a bomb in front of a shelter in central Gaza City, endangering displaced civilians.
Hamas also pointed to the systematic demolition of homes and infrastructure, severe restrictions on humanitarian aid, and the continued closure of the Rafah crossing as evidence of deliberate and calculated violations.
The movement called on all mediators, guarantor states, and the broader international community to exert "real pressure" on the occupation to halt its violations and uphold its obligations under the ceasefire agreement.
Hamas warned that without accountability, "Israel" would continue to breach the agreement with impunity, further deepening the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas urges action to end Gaza siege
On a related note, in another statement, Hamas called on Monday on the Arab nation and the free people of the world to intensify global efforts to pressure the Israeli occupation and its backers to halt their aggression, lift the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, and open humanitarian crossings.
The movement stressed that the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza demands urgent intervention to rescue civilians and facilitate the entry of vital aid, tents, and prefabricated shelters.
Hamas described the dire living conditions Palestinians face two years into the genocide war on Gaza, mentioning the severe shortages of food, medicine, clean water, and shelter, as well as the collapse of the healthcare system.
Such conditions pose an immediate threat to the lives of civilians, particularly women and children, as winter approaches and rainfall increases.
Hamas held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement, intensified aggression against civilians, the continued closure of crossings, and obstruction of humanitarian and relief efforts.
