Resistance factions mourn IRGC commander martyr Razi Mousavi
The Resistance factions affirm the IRGC commander's decades-long dedication to supporting the Resistance in the region.
Resistance factions across the MENA region mourned on Monday Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) military advisor, Brigadier General Seyyed Razi Mousavi, who was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on the Syrian capital Damascus.
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon (Hezbollah) pointed out that the assassination of Seyyed Razi Mousavi constitutes a new crime perpetrated by the Israeli occupation and adds to its record of crimes and aggressions.
In a statement, Hezbollah affirmed that the assassination of Mousavi, who served as a military advisor in Syria, represents a blatant, audacious assault that transcends all red-lines.
The Lebanese Resistance party further emphasized Mousavi's decades-long dedication to supporting the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, highlighting his status as a comrade-in-arms and a companion of martyr General Qasem Soleimani.
Hezbollah extended condolences to the Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei, as well as to the leadership of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), the family of the martyr, and the entire Iranian population.
In the same context, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement strongly condemned in a statement the cowardly assassination, affirming that the martyr played a fundamental and pivotal role in supporting the resistance forces in the region and standing by the Palestinian people, their resistance, and their cause.
The statement pointed out that this sinful assassination once again confirms that the danger of this criminal entity ["Israel"] extends to the entire region, and that "Israel" is fueled by bloodshed and the dissemination of murder and criminality.
The PIJ concluded by asserting that the crimes of the Zionist entity and its tampering with the region's security will only bring defeat upon it at the hands of the Resistance forces.
In a separate statement, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) declared that the Israeli assassination of Mousavi is an example of the Zionist entity's aggressive criminal doctrine.
The PFLP extended its sincere condolences to the Iranian leadership and people for the martyrdom of the commander, stating that he played a vital role in supporting the resistance and developing its capabilities in various fields.
The statement considered this Israeli crime, carried out in coordination and partnership with the United States and Western powers, as an attempt by the Israeli entity to go blindly ahead, noting that it would only lead to escalating strikes against "Israel" and its allies in the region.
The PFLP concluded by warning that the assassination or targeting of any Resistance leader here or there will only fuel this resistance, steadfastness, and determination to achieve the central goal of extracting this cancerous entity and its affiliates from Palestine and the region.
On its part, the Iraqi Kataib Hezbollah considered the martyrdom of Commander Mousavi a treacherous Zionist aggression in Syria, pointing out that the martyr played a significant role in confronting the takfiri forces such as al-Qaeda and ISIS, which wreaked havoc in Iraq and on its people.
Similarly, the al-Nujaba Movement in Iraq said in a statement, "We, the Islamic resistance, have an inevitable revenge to take, and we will only be an opponent and adversary to evil."
Addressing the occupation, the movement said, "Let the enemies of religion and humanity know that their demise is inevitable, no matter how long they persist and conspire."
Earlier, Iran's IRGC confirmed that Mousavi was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on Syria's Damascus on Monday.
The Iranian commander was martyred after the Israeli occupation launched three missiles at his position in the suburbs of the Syrian capital of Damascus, as reported by Al Mayadeen's correspondent.
Mousavi exerted exemplary efforts in the fight against ISIS in Syria during his lengthy participation in combatting terrorism throughout the region.
Commenting on Mousavi's assassination, the IRGC underlined that "there is no doubt that the Israeli occupation entity will pay the price for this crime."
On his part, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi mourned Mousavi, vowing that the Israeli occupation would pay the price for its crime.
Raisi issued later in the day a statement extending his condolences to the Islamic Republic and its people, as well as Mousavi's comrades in the IRGC.
The Iranian President said the assassination of the top commander was a sign of frustration and weakness from the Israeli occupation, underlining once again that the Israeli occupation would "definitely pay a price for its crime."
In a related context, an Israeli official suggested that the Israeli occupation forces are preparing for an Iranian response to the killing of Mousavi.
According to the Israeli official, Israeli intel prompted the occupation forces to be on alert and expect a response from Iran after it was found that "Israel" was behind the assassination of Mousavi in Syria.
"The Israeli army is preparing for an Iranian response that might entail missile strikes from Syria and Lebanon," the official said.
