The Islamic Resistance Hamas has condemned the Israeli occupation's demolition of homes and buildings in the Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm and the forced displacement of civilians at gunpoint, stressing it is a "serious violation of international law."
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Palestinian Resistance movement called on the United Nations and its institutions to take "immediate and effective action to stop the occupation’s horrific and ongoing violations of international laws."
Hamas also asserted that the Israeli military assaults in the West Bank and the "systematic terrorism against Palestinians" are nothing more than "desperate and failed attempts to break the will of the resistance." The movement stressed that such policies would only strengthen Palestinians’ attachment to their land and escalate efforts to confront and thwart the occupation’s plans.
The IOF continue their relentless aggression on areas and refugee camps in the northern West Bank, with a particular focus on the city of Tulkarm and its camp, alongside the ongoing assault on the Nur Shams camp in Tulkarm.
The occupation has escalated its demolition of homes and residential buildings, impacting over 26 structures in the Tulkarm camp in recent days. This is part of a settlement plan being enacted under the pretext of constructing a road that spans several key areas within Tulkarm, causing significant damage to all surrounding buildings and facilities.
Additionally, Israeli occupation forces informed residents last night of their plans to demolish 11 homes in the Nur Shams camp in the coming days. This move is being justified under the pretext of "constructing a road extending from the camp square towards the al-Manshiya neighborhood," as reported by Israeli media.

In a related context, the Israeli killing of Palestinian children in the occupied West Bank has become increasingly commonplace, particularly after October 7, 2023, and the outset of the brutal Israeli war on Gaza. This intensity has only increased since the ceasefire in Gaza in January.
In 2024, about two children per week have been killed. Human rights groups fear these numbers will keep rising as the Israeli military adopts tactics from Gaza in the West Bank, forcibly displacing tens of thousands of Palestinians, demolishing entire neighborhoods, and loosening "rules of engagement" for soldiers, which now allow them to open fire more freely. This shift has led to the term “Gazafication,” signaling a new norm.
