Israeli Court Prevents 4 Palestinian Escapees from Meeting With Attorney
The detention of four Palestinian escapees Mahmoud Al Arida, Yaqoub Qadri, Zakaria Zubeidi, and Mohammed al-Arida has been extended by the Central Israeli court.
Al Mayadeen correspondent reported that the central Israeli court extended by nine days the detention of four Palestinian escapees who snatched their freedom from Gilboa Prison, a high-security jail.
Our reporter stressed that the Israeli intelligence refused to allow lawyer Khaled Mahajna, who is defending the four escapees, to meet with them, providing no information about their health condition and preventing him from assessing the conditions of their detention.
Israeli media reported that security services continue to detain the four escapees in the interrogation cellars of the “Shin Bet” intelligence service in the cells of the “Jalama” prison in occupied Jenin.
A video on social media depicted the arrival of the 4 escapees Mahmoud Al Arida, Yaqoub Qadri, Zakaria Zubeidi, and Mohammed al-Arida to the courtroom in the city of An-Nasira in the occupied Palestinian interior.
Solidarity with the heroes of the Freedom Tunnel
Following their arrival, Palestinian youths from the occupied Palestinian territories showed solidarity with the 4 escapees, in front of the Israeli occupation’s court, raising the Palestinian flag, and chanting “no to settlements.”
Earlier this week, demonstrations were held in several West Bank towns in support of the escapees.
In Nablus, youths set tires alight during confrontations with Israeli occupation forces. The Palestinian Red Crescent said 60 protesters were injured by tear gas near Nablus.
Earlier, the Palestinian Prisoners' Club said Israeli occupation forces had arrested at least six relatives of the Palestinians who broke out of Gilboa prison in northern “Israel”, amid protests in support of the escapees.
Re-arresting the heroes does not conceal “Israel’s shame”
On his account, Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, confirmed on Saturday that the escape of the prisoners has once again exposed how fragile the enemy's security is.
Abu Obeida revealed that no prisoners’ swap deal will take place at any cost without the 6 prisoners who liberated themselves from the Gilboa Prison, stressing that re-arresting the heroes of the Freedom Tunnel does not conceal the shame inflicted upon the Israeli security establishment.
