An Israeli drone strike injured a Lebanese civilian on Monday after firing two missiles at his vehicle in Yater, southern Lebanon, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported.
According to the correspondent, Israeli forces also advanced in the morning toward the eastern outskirts of Houla and detonated explosives inside one of its homes.
Separately, bursts of gunfire were fired from an Israeli position at Ruweisat al-Alam toward the outskirts of Kfar Chouba, further escalating tensions along the border.
The latest incidents come as the Israeli occupation continues its attacks across southern Lebanon and maintains positions inside Lebanese territory, in violation of the ceasefire announced on November 27, 2024.
'Israel' increases continues targeting civilians
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported Thursday morning that one person was martyred in an Israeli occupation airstrike on southern Lebanon. Initial reports indicate that an Israeli drone deliberately targeted a motorcycle traveling on the road between Aytit and Ain Baal, setting the vehicle ablaze and killing its driver instantly.
The occupation continues to disregard the ceasefire declared in November 2024. Since then, Israeli violations have reportedly killed 264 people and wounded more than 540 across Lebanon, with strikes expanding from the south to the east.
On Monday, the Emergency Health Operations Center of Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health announced that Israeli occupation airstrikes on the Bekaa and Hermel highlands, eastern and northeastern Lebanon, left five people martyred and five others wounded.
These latest violations follow a series of Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon. On September 3, warplanes struck the Zahrani coastal area, killing four and injuring 17, including four children. The strikes hit an industrial hangar used for repairing bulldozers on the Deir Taqla farm, between the towns of Ansariyeh and Adloun.
US willing to give Lebanon away to 'Israel'
The Resistance in Lebanon was able to thwart "Israel's" objectives and prevent it from occupying any territory during Battle People of Might, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem affirmed on Wednesday, adding that "Israel is deterred today and cannot find a foothold on our land."
In a speech marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Sheikh Qassem pointed out that "since the establishment of modern Lebanon, Israel has had greedy ambitions" to lay hands on the entirety of the country.
So, "the highest form of patriotism is the defense of Lebanon," he asserted.
Sheikh Qassem said that the Resistance had paid a tremendous price in defending Lebanon, offering its most precious sacrifices, including the Master of the Nation’s Martyrs, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and Sayyed Hashim Safieddine.
In a similar context, the Secretary-General stated that the Resistance has played a crucial role in forming an impenetrable barrier against "Israel's" aforementioned ambitions and prevented it from achieving its goals. He emphasized the Resistance's contribution to achieving stability in Lebanon and ushering in a new era by facilitating the election of President Aoun and confronting the enemy.
