Israeli drone strikes car in Lebanon's Western Bekaa
The Israeli occupation forces drone strike a vehicle in southern Lebanon, killing one person and wounding another.
An Israeli drone crashed Saturday into a car at the Qatna crossroad in the western part of Beqaa, as reported by a military source to Sputnik.
According to the source, the drone strike killed one man and severely wounded another.
The martyr, later identified as Ayman Hashem Ghotma, a commander of the Islamic Group Resistance movement, lived in a village in the Beqaa Valley.
Details about the second individual who was injured in the crash remain undisclosed, but it has been confirmed that his injuries are severe.
The Israeli occupation forces have carried out numerous assassination attempts on Islamic Group commanders over its participation in the Lebanese support front backing the Resistance and people of Gaza.
Back in late April, the Fajr Forces, the military wing of the Islamic Group, announced the martyrdom of two of its high-ranking commanders while they were on duty, in an Israeli raid that targeted them in Meidoun in western Beqaa.
In a statement, Fajr Forces said the two martyrs, Musab Saeed Khalaf and Bilal Mohammed Khalaf, from Akkar in northern Lebanon, noting that they were martyred in defense of their people in the south and in support of the Palestinian people.
The Islamic Group emphasized that it would "continue to confront the Zionist enemy and support the Palestinian people" during a popular reception for more of its martyrs who were killed by the Israeli occupation forces in the city of Sidon in March.
In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Group in Lebanon, Bassam Hammoud, emphasized that the ongoing confrontation with the occupation would persist, stating, "As long as this enemy occupies our land and attacks our villages, we will continue to confront it."
