Israeli FM mocked for AI image flop intended to shame Lula da Silva
Multiple glitches were evident, such as inaccuracies in the design of the Israeli and Brazilian flags, the unrealistic depiction of people's faces, and an excessive number of hands and elbows, some overlapping.
The social media platform X was a roast show for Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on Friday after he shared an image designed by artificial intelligence (AI) and intended to shame Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Katz posted on X, in both Brazilian Portuguese and Hebrew: “No one will separate our people – not even you, Lula da Silva. Shabbat Shalom!”
Ninguém vai separar nosso povo – nem mesmo você @LulaOficial.

The multiple glitches included inaccuracies in the design of the Israeli and Brazilian flags, the unrealistic depiction of people's faces, and an excessive number of hands and elbows, some overlapping.
One user on X said: “I don’t know what’s worse, this ordeal or Lula making fun of Obama. Each one with their fetishes,” referring to a figure that vaguely resembled Lula and the former US president, featuring impossible anatomical drawings.
Even the phrase “Ordem e Progresso” (Order and Progress) on the Brazilian flag was written with nonsensical letters, which some Brazilians viewed as offensive.

One X user asked Katz “Is that you there?” as he took a jab at the nonsensical faces. In addition, the jerseys in the picture are supposed to say “Brazil” and “Israel”, but that didn't work too well.
One researcher said: “Just stop carrying out ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian population and our differences will be resolved. It was never Brazil’s intention to break relations with any people”.
In response, one Lula supporter responded to the Israeli FM with a better AI image, showing Brazil making peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians, saying: “No one will separate our peoples – not even you, Israel Katz.”

Lula said on Sunday that "Israel" is committing "genocide" against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, likening its crimes to "Adolf Hitler's in Nazi Germany." This was not Lula's first time to draw such comparisons, nor was he the first world leader to do so.
He expressed that what was going on in Palestine had happened in the past when Hitler "decided to kill the Jews."
It sparked outrage by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who declared that Lula had "crossed a red line," while Katz announced that the Brazilian leader is considered "persona non grata in the state of Israel until he retracts his remarks and issues an apology."
Brazil's foreign minister Mauro Vieira then denounced statements made by Katz as "unacceptable in their nature, deceptive in their content," and "outrageous."
In November, Lula called "Israel's attitude toward children, toward women, "equal to terrorism," stressing that "there's no other way to put it."
