According to the statement, "Ahead of U.S. President Joseph R. Biden Jr's. visit to the Middle East, and as part of diplomatic developments in the region, President Isaac Herzog met this week with His Majesty King Abdullah II at his royal palace in Jordan."
During the discussion, the parties discussed profound strategic concerns at the bilateral and regional levels, as well as the preservation of stable relations between the nations and the necessity for engagement with all regional entities.
Israeli media had announced earlier that "the essence of US President Joe Biden's visit to the region is Saudi Arabia, with symbolic small steps to build confidence, but in the end, it paves the way for normalization between us and Saudi Arabia."
This comes after the White House announced on the 14th of this month that Biden will visit the Middle East from 13 to 16 July.
