Israeli media highlights that approximately a thousand soldiers are added each month to the ranks of those physically and mentally wounded in the Israeli military's rehabilitation department.
The names of tens of thousands of Israeli soldiers are listed among the dead or wounded in the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, as per Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
In a report published today, Sunday, the Israeli newspaper revealed that at least 10,000 Israeli soldiers have been killed or injured during the prolonged months of combat in the Gaza Strip.
The newspaper highlighted that approximately a thousand soldiers are added to the ranks of those physically and mentally wounded in the Israeli military's rehabilitation department each month, according to departmental data.
Despite these staggering numbers, both the Knesset and the government have proceeded with redrafting and passing legislation to extend mandatory military service, leaving regular soldiers in a state of significant frustration, as per Israeli media.

Yedioth Ahronoth quoted the father of a soldier from the elite Israeli brigade Nahal, currently part of the forces invading Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, who expressed grave concerns about the soldiers' conditions. "Such a situation has never occurred in the history of Israeli wars, not even in 1948," he stated, "where soldiers fought under unfavorable conditions for ten consecutive months."
In a related development, the newspaper reported that female soldiers stationed in the northern Golan Heights were "arbitrarily" informed in recent days that their service would be extended by an additional four months, despite their scheduled discharge in September.
According to Israeli data, subject to military censorship, more than 690 officers and soldiers have been killed since October 7th. The Israeli army is currently facing internal accusations of concealing the true extent of its human losses, which are reportedly much higher.
On July 12th, the Israeli Cabinet approved a decision to extend mandatory military service to three years, citing a manpower shortage. The decision is set to be presented to the government for approval and subsequently legislated in a full Knesset session.
