Israeli media: "Israel" didn't want to comply with all Washington's steps in Ukraine
Israeli media have quoted Israeli officials as saying that "in all discussions, it was clear to everyone that any move by the US administration regarding the crisis in Ukraine is affected by the shocking fall of Kabul."
The Israeli Walla website reported that "Israel" received intelligence information from the United States regarding the seriousness of the situation in Ukraine.
According to a report published on the website, "Last Friday night, sensitive information reached Israel - an updated US intelligence report about the assembly of Russian forces at the border with Ukraine."
The report also indicated that "Israel" was not the only one that obtained the intelligence information, "the Americans distributed it with some of their allies, especially in NATO, and from that moment the Israeli government accounts began to change."
According to the report, what happened behind the scenes between “Israel”, Washington, and Kyiv last weekend is based on talks with five high-ranking Israeli officials who were familiar with the discussions that took place within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister.
The site also said they have followed up the escalation between Russia and Ukraine, but have refrained from warning Israelis of travel or evacuating the families of Israeli diplomats.
Political agenda
According to the site, "the main reason for this is political - fearing that such an Israeli move would provoke anger in Moscow or Kyiv or both capitals."
The website quoted a high-ranking Israeli official as saying, "We did not want to automatically stand by everything the Americans do or say."
He pointed out that the Israeli Ambassador in Kyiv believed that the situation did not require intense travel bans.
The website's report added that after several hours passed, the "major picture began to change significantly. High-ranking American officials conveyed to Israel and several other Western countries an updated intelligence report on the situation at the front between Russia and Ukraine. The broad line was that the possibility of a Russian invasion of Ukraine is in less than a week."
The report considered that in "Israel", they did not know how accurate the US intelligence reports were or what they relied on.
Senior Israeli officials said that "in all discussions, it was clear to everyone that any move by the US administration regarding the crisis in Ukraine is affected by the shocking fall of Kabul and the rapid and embarrassing evacuation from Afghanistan."
US intelligence information
Regarding the intelligence information received from the United States, an assessment of the situation was established with the Prime Minister of the occupation government at noon on Saturday to make a decision.
It is noteworthy that the occupation has been living lately worried that the Russian and Syrian air forces will start conducting joint patrols in the Golan airspace, according to the Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth website, noting that this will reduce the air force's attacks in Syria.
The newspaper's military correspondent, Yossi Yehoshua, pointed out that "the political and security leadership finds it difficult to understand what prompted Moscow to report the start of joint air patrols" with the Syrian Army.
An Israeli political source also indicated to the newspaper "Israel" Hayom that the Russian-Syrian flights in the Golan are a "message to Israel."
In addition, Israeli media reported on Sunday that the outbreak of war in Ukraine could lead to the signing of a bad nuclear deal with Iran.
The newspaper Israel Hayom quoted Israeli political officials as saying that "the outbreak of an Eastern European war between Russia and Ukraine could reduce the international community's interest in the Iranian nuclear file and the ongoing talks in the Austrian capital, Vienna."
