Israeli media: "Israel" Would Have Preferred to Keep the Exercise Covert
Israeli media reports that "Israel" and the entire international coalition concede that Iran must be confronted in the maritime arena.
Today, Israeli media reported that "Israel" would have preferred not to render public the joint naval exercise with the UAE and Bahrain.
Kan's military correspondent said the US statement about the joint naval exercise with the UAE and Bahrain surprised "Israel" and in general the "Israeli army," as it would have preferred not to publish the subject of this maneuver, "at least at this stage."
The maneuver comes at this time to face the Iranians at sea
The Israeli channel correspondent added that in "Israel" they say that the maneuver is led in the end by the US army and that they look completely independent in their actions. The correspondent also commented that since the exercise is taking place in the heart of the sea and away from the public eye, it could have been hidden.
The correspondent pointed out that the maneuver comes at this time to face the Iranians at sea, stressing that "Israel" and the entire international coalition understand that Iran must be confronted in the maritime arena, at a time when the Iranians look to be highly active at sea, especially after the events of the Gulf of Oman.
He also pointed out that the maneuver came one year after the normalization agreements, and it opens a window for more cooperation at the military level.
He concluded that in "Israel," they are working on additional maneuvers with Gulf countries, as well as trying to include other countries such as Jordan and Egypt in upcoming maneuvers.
About the exercise
The US Navy is leading a maritime security exercise in the Red Sea that brings together Israeli forces including Emirati and Bahraini forces, in the first exercise of its kind announced between "Israel" and the two Gulf countries that signed the normalization agreements.
In a statement, the US Navy said that UAE, Bahraini, and Israeli forces began conducting a multilateral exercise on maritime security operations in the Red Sea with the Central Command of the US Naval Forces.
