Israeli media: Opposition calls for cessation of hostilities
Israeli media report that PIJ has restored its confidence in the recent attack on the settlement of "Rehovot".
After a salvo of rockets from Gaza targetted the "Rehovot" settlement killing an Israeli settler and injuring others, Israeli media reported that the PIJ has restored its confidence.
"The missile that was fired in the direction of Rehovot was equipped with high-precision technology, and the Israeli air defenses could not shoot it down bypassing the David's Sling and Iron Dome systems," Israeli media reported.
"The Iron Dome provides good protection, but it is not impenetrable," the commander of the so-called Home Front was quoted saying by Israeli media.
Israeli media assessed that the PIJ has fired around 600 rockets toward "Israel" since the onset of the operation.
Almong Boker, the military correspondent for the Israeli Channel 13, described the scenes of destruction in "Rehovot" as that which "Israel feared".
Additionally, Israeli media noted that the ceasefire talks hosted in Egypt have been frozen. "Egyptian mediation has not yet succeeded in achieving a breakthrough that would allow the conclusion of a ceasefire agreement."
Furthermore, it was reported that many from the Israeli opposition have been critical of the government's operation: describing it as futile and calling for its cessation. Yair Lapid, a leading opposition politician, was quoted saying "The time has come to stop the operation".
