Israeli occupation approves settlement plan in Occupied Golan
The Israeli occupation government has approved a major settlement plan that aims to double the number of settlers in the Occupied Syrian Golan.
The latest Israeli provocative development manifested in developing an Israeli settlement in the occupied Syrian Golan, which aims to double the number of illegal Israeli settlers in Syrian territory.
Several Israeli media outlets had previously reported that the occupation's cabinet was to allocate a budget of 1 billion shekels ($317) to increase the population of the Occupied Golan Heights by twofold.
The occupation's cabinet approved the massive spending plan during their weekly meeting, this time held in "Mevo Hama," the Occupied Syrian Golan.
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced during the weekly session that the plan consists of building two new "communities" in the "Katzrin" settlement built on Syria's Qasrin.
The two new "communities" will be named Asif and Matar, and each of them will comprise thousands of housing units.
According to Israeli media, the plan will see the number of Israeli settlers increasing from 50,000 to 100,000.
Apart from the United States, the international community recognizes the Occupied Golan as a part of Syria that was annexed by the Israeli occupation.
Israeli newspaper "Israel" Hayom reported Thursday that the plan includes creating 2,000 jobs and the construction of 3,300 housing units within the next five years with the aim of transforming the Golan into "Israel's" renewable energy capital.
The greedy Israeli attempts to widen "Tel Aviv's" score of control in the heights come after the citizens of the Occupied Syrian Golan reaffirmed their categorical rejection of the decision to annex their region, stressing that the Golan has been, still is, and will remain Syrian Arab territory.
Although the US had previously voiced concerns over the Israeli occupation intending to construct some 3,150 settlement units in the Occupied West Bank, the former Trump administration had recognized "Israeli sovereignty" over the Occupied Golan.
The Israeli cabinet under former PM Benjamin Netanyahu then proceeded to establish another settlement in the occupied Syrian territory named "Trump Heights."
